I am not entirely sure where I get my inspiration from. Sometime I watch a movie, sometimes I listen to a song, or sometimes I simply experience something that makes me want to create a new song or just a specific kind of sound. I can say though, that I find myself being more productive between midnight and about 4am.
For the last couple of months I have been working on sound designing. Meaning, I am trying to create very unique sounding elements for my music production.
For this song, I called it “closure”, not sure why, I have been inspired by artists like The Weeknd, Michael Jackson, and Ratatat.
“Closure” resolves around a rather simple beat, high frequencies of the kick and the snare are cut off to let more room for the main synthesizer that is taking the lead in this short preview. If you listen with headphones you can hear how the bass line is pulsing and shifting around in pitch. I like experimenting with those kind of elements. Often times it is a trial and error process which leaves me with 43021 different versions however.
For future projects that I am working on, I am planning on merging different elements of electronic music and give it a unique and slightly cinematic feeling, because film scores play a big role in my life after all.
